Rattler Volleyball Continues Home Stand

The Rattlers return to the Al Lawson Center for matches against Mississippi Valley State and Jackson State.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | The Florida A&M volleyball team continues its Southwestern Athletic Conference schedule this weekend (Sept. 30 – Oct. 1) with home matches against Mississippi Valley State and Jackson State. 

Sept. 30 
vs. Mississippi Valley State | 2 p.m.

Oct. 1 
vs. Jackson State | 1 p.m.

The Last Outing
The Rattlers' journey through the SWAC began with a 3-1 loss to Alabama State and a straight-set decision over Alabama A&M. 
  • The latter marked FAMU's second sweep of the season 
  • Camila De La Rosa was named the SWAC Newcomer of the Week after totaling 52 assists
  • Brooke Lynn Watts recorded a double-double – her sixth of the season – versus ASU (10 kills, 10 digs) 
  • Brooke Hudson notched double-digit digs in both matches and currently manages the fourth-most (27) in conference play this year

The Rattlers have garnered SWAC Player of the Week accolades every week this season.

FAMU currently leads the Southwestern Athletic Conference in the following categories:

Individually, Brooke Hudson guides the SWAC and sits 17th in the nation in digs per set (5.05). The Preseason Libero of the Year also ranks 11th in the NCAA in total digs (283). Brooke Lynn Watts, the Preseason Player of the Year, paces the conference in attacks per set (9.52) and ranks second in kills per set (3.25).

Milestone Trackers 
  • Camila De La Rosa is 50 assists away from amassing 1,000 in their three-year collegiate career; she compiled 706 in two seasons at Florida International 
  • Brooke Hudson recorded their 1,000th career dig earlier this season and currently manages 1,184 (836 while at FAMU); the libero is 22 away from tying Anisha Nicholson (1999-02) for the 10th most digs (858) in Rattler history 
  • Brooke Lynn Watts needs just 15 kills to total 1,000 in their three-year collegiate career; the Rattlers' leading attacker recorded 521 in their freshman season at Murray State and currently manages 464 at FAMU
