Coleman Guides FAMU Contingent at Mountain Dew Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. | The Florida A&M cross-country team took to the Mark Bostick Golf Course Friday morning for a three-mile race (Sept. 15). The Mountain Dew Invitational marked the Rattlers' second meet of the season, and the second where a freshman led them.

Niya Coleman paced the FAMU contingent with a time of 19:41.5. She crossed the finish line in the 83rd position (out of 139 total competitors). The team also saw Serenity Williams and Sierra Barrera finish back-to-back in 20:12.1 and 21:02.1.

As a unit, the Rattlers placed 11th overall ahead of Florida Southern, FIU, and Bethune-Cookman. The team has one final meet on their schedule – the FSU Invite on Sept. 29 – before the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championships comes to Tallahassee on Oct. 23.
