Rattlers lead SWAC with 17 Phil Steele Preseason All-SWAC Selections, Moussa Preseason Offensive Player of the Year

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –– Florida A&M Football leads the way in Phil Steele's Preseason All-SWAC Teams with 17 and has the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year in Jeremy Moussa.

Moussa has been named the Preseason SWAC Offensive Player of the Year again after a strong season in 2022, finishing with over 2,700 passing yards and 21 touchdowns. Moussa also ran and caught a touchdown.

Phil Steele Preseason All-SWAC Teams

The Rattlers led the way with 17 total and ten on the first team. Moussa is joined on the offensive side of the ball with returning wide receiver Jah'Marae Sheread and transfer wide receiver Marcus Riley. Moussa looks to be well protected with both of his tackle spots, Jalen Goss and Cam Covin, making the first team. Defensively, the Rattlers see Isaiah Major, Javan Morgan, and Kendall Bohler on the first team. Trey Wilhoit is named the first team punter, as Sheread is on the list again for the all-purpose spot.

Transfer offensive lineman Kardell Thomas is named to the second team as defensive returners Gentle Hunt and Johnny Chaney Jr. make the second team. Sheread sees his name on the list for a third time as he's named second team punt returner.

The offensive line shows to be one of the best in the SWAC as TJ Lee and Morgan Moore join the list on the third team, giving the Rattlers five offensive lineman on the list. Defensive lineman Dre Jones round out the list as the lone edge rusher for the Rattlers.

The Rattlers began fall camp and have their first practice of the new season Friday, August 4, as they prepare for their season-opener in the Orange Blossom Classic versus Jackson State.
