ATLANTA, Ga. --The Florida A&M Rattlers rallied from down 3-1 in the seventh inning to knock off the Alabama State Hornets 8-6 Friday.
Junior Raylan Wagner (3-1) got the win for Florida A&M (27-28). The right-hander went 8.1 innings, giving up six runs, all of them earned, on 10 hits, allowing six walks and striking out three.
Offensively, the Rattlers were led by junior Sebastian Greico, who went 1-for-4 on the day with a home run, a walk and three RBI. Senior Ty Hanchey compiled a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Junior Adam Haidermota also contributed for Florida A&M, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding a walk and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 2-0, the Rattlers first put runs on the board in the fifth inning. Sophomore Will Brown came across to score the lone run of the inning for Florida A&M and get them on the board.
The Hornets expanded their lead to 3-1 before the Rattlers offense got back to work, taking the lead in the eighth. The Florida A&M offense exploded for seven runs, highlighted by a three-run home run off the bat of Greico and a two-run double from Hanchey, which brought the Rattlers lead to 8-3. Alabama State put three runs on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Florida A&M still held on for the 8-6 win.Â
