JACKSON, Miss. — Florida A&M tennis traveled to Jackson, Mississippi, to compete in their first SWAC event of the season and returned to Tallahassee with a perfect record.
The Rattlers started the weekend with a 5-0 sweep of Mississippi Valley on Friday. Saturday morning, they continued their dominance by sweeping Alcorn State 4-0 and capped the weekend off with a 4-0 sweep versus Grambling.
Reagan Harris and Genesis Whitelock went a perfect 3-0 in singles play, as Rebekkah Gaines and Sara Rakim went 2-0. Veronica Rodriguez won one match. All the other matches went unfinished.
Sara Rakim and Sierra Sandy dominated as a team, as they were the only pair to win two doubles matches this weekend.
The Rattlers return home and host Jacksonville State on Friday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. Eastern.
