TALLAHASSEE, FL --The Florida A&M women's basketball team held Alcorn State to just 18.2 percent from deep in a 2-for-11 shooting performance, but fell 73-67 to the Lady Braves at home Monday.
The Rattlers (5-19, 3-10) had four players score in double figures, led by Mide Oriyomi, who had 20 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Ivet Subirats tacked on 15 points and Paulla Weekes chipped in as well with 13 points.
Florida A&M utilized fantastic ball movement in Monday's game, piling up 16 assists on 23 made field goals. Ahriahna Grizzle's eight assists paced the Rattlers and Mikyah Mack also added three assists of her own.

How It Happened
After falling behind 21-16, Florida A&M went on a 5-0 run with 25 seconds left in the first quarter to tie the game at 21, a score that would hold for the rest of the period. Florida A&M did most of its first quarter damage in the paint, scoring 12 of its 21 points close to the basket.
Alcorn State then took a 23-21 lead before Florida A&M responding by going on a 7-0 run, highlighted by a bucket from Subirats, to take a 28-23 lead. The Lady Braves then came roaring back to take a 37-34 lead heading into halftime.
Florida A&M's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Rattlers faced a 60-45 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Florida A&M took advantage of two Alcorn State turnovers in the quarter, scoring four points off of takeaways.
Florida A&M narrowed its deficit to 67-56 before going on a 6-0 run, finished off by Subirats' three, to shrink the deficit to 67-62 with 1:15 to go in the contest. Alcorn State responded and outscored the Rattlers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 73-67. Florida A&M fired away from deep in the quarter, knocking down four shots to account for 12 of its 22 points.
