Isaiah Major named Stats Perform All-American

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –– Florida A&M linebacker Isaiah Major, coming off an MVP performance in the 2023 Celebration Bowl win versus Howard, received more national recognition and was named to the Stats Perform All-American list.

Major had an outstanding 2023 campaign, finishing the season named the SWAC Defensive Player of the Year and finishing 16th in the Buck Buchanan Award voting. Major led the Dark Cloud Defense with 106 total tackles, 63 solo tackles, and 12.5 tackles for loss. Major also added five quarterback hurries, two sacks, three pass breakups, a fumble recovery, and a pick-six this season. Major earned SWAC Defensive Player of the Week and was honorably mentioned National Defensive Player of the Week, following his 11 tackles, three tackles for loss, and two sack performances at South Florida.

Major recorded a season-high 12 tackles and the game-sealing pick-six versus Alabama State. Major also had two or more tackles for loss in three games, including three at South Florida and Mississippi Valley State.

Most recently, Major recorded the game-sealing interception in the 2023 Celebration Bowl, finishing the game with six tackles, one tackle for loss, and an interception. Major led the Rattlers' defense that made Celebration Bowl history, holding the Bison to a Celebration Bowl low 187 total offensive yards and 106 passing yards. They also set a Celebration Bowl defensive record, recording three interceptions.
