Rattlers Off to Houston For SWAC Volleyball Cluster

The Rattlers will take on Southern, Texas Southern, and Prairie View A&M inside H&PE Arena.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | Florida A&M is off to Houston, Texas, for a three-match swing in the Southwestern Athletic Conference West Volleyball Cluster. The team will meet Southern and Texas Southern on Sunday before concluding their trip against Prairie View A&M on Monday.

The Last Outing
The Rattlers concluded their non-conference schedule with a 3-1 setback to North Florida this past Tuesday. The offense was led by a double-double from Brooke Lynn Watts, who registered 19 kills and 10 digs. Brooke Hudson chipped in with 21 digs.

Season Highlights … So Far

• Brooke Lynn Watts has recorded seven double-doubles this season; she amassed her 1,000th career kill in the Rattlers' 3-1 win over Jackson State (Oct. 1)
• Brooke Hudson possesses 1,239 career digs, 891 were recorded in a FAMU uniform; she currently ranks 10th in all-time in Rattler history in career digs
• Camila De La Rosa also amassed her 1,000th career dig in the Jackson State victory (Oct. 1)

Individually, Brooke Hudson guides the SWAC and sits 22nd in the nation in digs per set (5.04). The Preseason Libero of the Year also ranks ninth in the NCAA in total digs (388). Brooke Lynn Watts, the Preseason Player of the Year, paces the conference in attacks per set (9.81), kills per set (3.47), and points per set (3.88).

SWAC Weekly Honors (2023)
The Florida A&M volleyball team has received Southwestern Athletic Conference accolades every week this 2023 season, and Camila De La Rosa is the latest Rattler to garner back-to-back recognition. She and Brooke Hudson each manage a team-best three weekly awards.
