Rattlers in Houston, looking to extend SWAC win streak

HOUSTON, Texas –– Florida A&M football travels to Houston on an 11-game SWAC winning streak and a three-game winning streak versus the Tigers as they look to keep their streak going.

FLORIDA A&M RATTLERS
The Rattlers come into Saturday with one of the best defenses in the nation as they're ranked in the top 25 in ten categories: passing efficiency defense (24th), red zone defense (18th), first down defense (14th), sacks (10th), total defense (5th), scoring defense (5th), 3rd down defense (5th), rushing defense (4th), defensive touchdowns (3rd), tackles for loss (1st). The Rattlers also possess some of the best defensive players in the nation in Isaiah Major and Anthony Dunn Jr. Major currently ranks 13th in the nation in solo tackles per game (5.8), Dunn Jr. ranks 5th in sacks per game (1.08) and 16th in tackles for loss per game (1.6). 
 
Offensively, the Rattlers have one of the best passing attacks in the nation, ranked 16th in the nation, averaging 270.8 passing yards per game. Quarterback Jeremy Moussa comes into the game ranked 19th in passing yards (1,569) and 15th in passing touchdowns (12). 
 
On special teams, the Rattlers have two of the best returners in the nation as Jah'Marae Sheread ranks 5th in yards per punt return (18.6) and Marcus Riley 7th in yards per kick return (30.4). 
 
TEXAS SOUTHERN TIGERS
The TIGERS come into the game on a two-game winning streak, winning their last home game versus Lincoln (Ca.) and their game last weekend at Bethune-Cookman, spoiling the Wildcats homecoming.
 
On the defensive side, the Tigers have struggled as they're ranked 60th in total defense, 81st in passing defense, and 103rd in rushing defense. Despite the overall defense struggling, the Tigers do possess one of the best defensive players in the nation, Jacob Williams. Williams ranks 2nd in tackles for loss per game (2.1), 13th in sacks per game (.92), and 29th in total tackles (9 per game).
 
Offensively, the Tigers' strength has been running the ball, as they're ranked 27th, averaging 181 rushing yards per game. The Tigers' offense goes as running back LaDarius Owens goes. Owens is 17th in the nation and second in the SWAC with 567 rushing yards. Owen is also 11th in the nation, averaging 7.18 yards per carry. Owens isn't only used in the rushing game but all-around, as he's ranked 7th in the nation in all-purpose yards per game (151.17).
