Rattlers Scheduled to Meet Bethune-Cookman Friday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | After a busy four-match schedule last week, the Florida A&M volleyball team will have only one opponent to prepare for this week, as it visits Bethune-Cookman Friday (Oct. 13) at 6 p.m.  

The Last Outing
Florida A&M took on North Florida, Southern, Texas Southern, and Prairie View A&M last week and went an even 2-2, with both successes occurring in the SWAC Volleyball Cluster. Victories included 3-2 and 3-1 decisions over SU and PVAM. The Rattlers were up 2-0 over TSU but dropped the last three sets in a late-night affair that began at 11:30 p.m. 

Season Highlights … So Far
•  Brooke Lynn Watts has recorded eight double-doubles this season; she amassed her 1,000th career kill in the Rattlers' 3-1 win over Jackson State (Oct. 1) 
•  Brooke Hudson possesses 1,325 career digs, 977 were recorded in a FAMU uniform; she currently ranks ninth in all-time in Rattler history in career digs
•  Camila De La Rosa also amassed her 1,000th career dig in the Jackson State victory (Oct. 1)

FAMU currently leads the Southwestern Athletic Conference in the following categories:

Individually, Brooke Hudson guides the SWAC and sits 10th in the nation in digs per set (5.23). The Preseason Libero of the Year also ranks second in the NCAA in total digs (424). Brooke Lynn Watts, the Preseason Player of the Year, paces the conference in attacks per set (9.81) and is second in kills per set (3.44), points (244.5), total attacks (619), and total kills (220).

SWAC Weekly Honors (2023) 
The Florida A&M volleyball team has received Southwestern Athletic Conference accolades every week this 2023 season. Brooke Hudson and Iyonnie Sanford were the latest to garner recognition.
