The Rattlers are coming off a 55-49 loss to Southern Saturday afternoon. After falling behind 6-0, Florida A&M went on a 7-0 run mid-first quarter. The Rattlers then surrendered that lead and entered the second quarter down 16-10. Southern kept adding to that lead, building a 26-16 advantage before Florida A&M went on a 5-0 run, sparked by a three from Dylan Horton, to narrow its deficit to 26-21, a score that would hold until halftime. Southern continued to increase its lead after halftime, building a 41-29 advantage before Florida A&M went on a 5-0 run to trim its deficit to 41-34 with 59 seconds to go in the third, a score that remained until the end of the third quarter. Florida A&M went on a 7-0 run to shrink the deficit to 50-47 with 59 seconds to go in the contest.
Scouting the Tigers
Grambling State's guard Colbi Maples was named SWAC women's basketball Player of the Week last week. She averaged 28.5 points per game over the Tiger's past two contests. In GSU's 66-60 win versus Prairie View A&M, she scored 25 points while snagging seven rebounds, dishing out two assists, and making one steal. She topped that performance two days later with a career-high 32-point outing in Grambling State's 76-69 victory over Texas Southern. She shot 55 percent from the floor over those two games.
