The Rattlers are coming off an 85-50 loss to the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats at home Monday. The Rattlers had three players score in double figures, led by Eliya Ellis, who had 13 points and six rebounds. Paulla Weekes added 11 points and two steals from the bench, and Malerie Brooks chipped in as well with 10 points and two steals off the bench. The Rattlers struggled out of the gate, falling behind 26-6 at the end of the first quarter. The Rattlers continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 42-16 halftime deficit.
Scouting the Jaguars
- Guard Amani Mcwain leads Southern in points averaging 9.7 per game. She went (3-9 FG, 1-3 3PT) and chipped in seven points in the Jaguar's loss to Prairie View.
- Southern pulled down 33 rebounds, including 26 on the defensive side of the glass against Prairie View.
- The Jaguars also went a season-high 6-for-21 from the free-throw line.
- Southern had ten steals against Prairie View.
