Rattlers head to Baton Rouge for the first game of Louisiana road trip

BATON ROUGE, La. –– Florida A&M men's basketball travel to Louisiana to take on the first-place Southern Jaguars Saturday, Jan. 7.

Scouting the Rattlers
• Jordan Tillmon leads the Rattlers in scoring (10.4 PPG), and Jaylen Bates is the other Rattler averaging 10+ PPG (10 PPG).
• Bates leads the Rattlers in rebounds, averaging 7.1 RPG and double-doubles with two (both in wins). Bates grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds versus Bethune-Cookman.
• The Rattlers' strength this season has been crashing the offensive glass (11.08 ORPG) and forcing turnovers (13.25 PG)

Scouting the Jaguars
• The Jaguars have two players averaging 10+ points per game: Bryson Etienne (#23, 12.1 PPG) and Brion Whitley (#23, 10.4 PPG)
• The Jaguars are among the best in the nation at forcing turnovers (18.53 PG, 10th in the nation).
• The Jaguars' offense runs through P.J. Byrd (#3), as he's 10th in the nation in assists per game (5.9 APG). Byrd also contributes scoring for the Jaguars, averaging 8.6 PPG.
