Rattlers Lead HBCUs with Two First Team Phil Steele FCS Preseason All-Americans

CLEVELAND, Ohio | The Rattlers continue to earn All-American honors as linebacker Isaiah Land and punt returner Jah'Marae Sheread was named to the Phil Steele FCS All-American First Team. The Rattlers were the only HBCU to have two named to the first team.

Isaiah Land, First Team Defense (LB)

Isaiah Land earned Phil Steele FCS Preseason All-American honors after a career year in which he led the nation in sacks (19) and tackles for loss (25.5). Land had multiple 3+ sacks games and recorded a single-game FAMU record with five in the 30-7 win versus South Carolina State. Land was also named the Buck Buchanan Award winner (National Defensive Player of the Year), named to six All-American teams, the SWAC Defensive Player of the Year, and the All-SWAC First Team Defense.

Land has been named to the Phil Steele FCS Preseason All-American First Team, Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-American First Team, Preseason Athlon Sports All-American Team, East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 list, SWAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, and Preseason All-SWAC First Team Defense.

Jah'Marae Sheread, First Team Special Teams (PR)

Jah'Marae Sheread earned Phil Steele FCS Preseason All-American honors after leading the nation in yards per punt return with 19.9. Sheread had 358 punt return yards and one punt return touchdown.

Sheread has been named to the Phil Steele FCS Preseason All-American First Team, Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-American First Team, and Preseason Athlon Sports All-American Team.
