Rattlers Excitedly Take Field for First Day of Camp

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | The Florida A&M football team is eager to strike the gridiron, and stellar performance begins with preparation. The Rattlers officially reported to campus Thursday (July 28) and began fall training less than 24 hours later.

The Rattlers will soon enter their second season in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), and plenty of preseason buzz surrounds the team. Isaiah Land was named the conference's Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and also joined Xavier Smith (All-SWAC First Team Offense), BJ Bohler (All-SWAC First Team Defense), Jose Romo-Martinez (All-SWAC First Team Special Teams), Cameron Covin All-SWAC Second Team Offense), and Javan Morgan (All-SWAC Second Team Defense) as an all-conference selection. The 2022 BOXTOROW Preseason HBCU FCS Football Coaches Poll also ranked the program No. 3 behind Celebration Bowl participants Jackson State and South Carolina State, respectively.
