12/9/2022 11:04:00 AM

Florida A&M women's basketball returns to action and will look to get back in the win column when they face Tuskegee University Monday evening at Al Lawson. The Rattlers have three non-conference match ups left before they open SWAC play January 2 against Bethune-Cookman.

Who: Florida A&M (1-6, 0-0 SWAC) vs. Tuskegee

When: Monday, Dec. 12 at 6:00 p.m.

Where: Al Lawson Center

Last Outing

The Rattlers are coming off a 62-70 loss to Sam Houston (12/3) at home. The Rattlers held a 37-33 lead at halftime but could not hang on in the second half. The Rattlers had two players score in double figures, led by Dylan Horton, who had 18 points and two steals. Ahriahna Grizzle tacked on 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists, and Eliya Ellis added six points, six rebounds, and three blocks. Led by Ellis' two offensive rebounds, Florida A&M did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 12 boards that resulted in eight second-chance points. Florida A&M did a great job disrupting Sam Houston shots in the contest, coming away with eight blocks. Ellis' three rejections led the way individually for the Rattlers.

Double figure scoring

Florida A&M has three players averaging double-figure points this season. Dylan Horton, the team's leading scorer, has averaged 18.7 points per game. SEC transfer Ahriahna Grizzle has contributed 11.2 points per game. And Ball State transfer Ivet Subirats has also been a solid contributor averaging 10.5 points per game.

Getting To The Line

Ahriahna Grizzle has done a tremendous job getting to the free throw line this season. She is almost perfect from the charity stripe, going 24/21, which leads the team.
