ATHENS, GA --The Florida A&M men's basketball team could not keep up in a 68-46 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs on the road Friday.
The Rattlers (1-6) had two players score in double figures, led by Jordan Chatman, who had 12 points. Jordan Tillmon tacked on 10 points and Chase Barrs added seven points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Florida A&M forced 15 Georgia turnovers. The Rattlers turned those takeaways into 15 points on the other end of the floor. Barrs' two steals led the way for Florida A&M.
How It Happened
Florida A&M struggled out of the gate, falling behind 34-23 heading into halftime.
Georgia kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 43-27 advantage before Florida A&M went on a 6-0 run, finished off by Chatman's three, to shrink the deficit to 43-33 with 11:38 to go in the contest. Georgia responded and outscored the Rattlers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 68-46. Florida A&M took care of business in the paint, recording 14 of its 23 points in the lane.
