Scouting the Rattlers
• The Rattlers picked up their first win of the season in their home opener versus Albany State 70-65 in overtime and had three players score 10+ points (Jordan Chatman - 18, Byron Smith - 13, Jaylen Bates - 10)
• The Rattlers' leading scorers are Jordan Chatman and Jordan Tillman, both averaging 9.8 PPG
• Jaylen Bates is the Rattlers' top rebounder, averaging 7.3 rebounds per game, and ranks 68th in the nation with three offensive rebounds per game. Bates had his first career double-double in the win versus Albany State (10 points, 13 rebounds)
 
Scouting the Gators
• The Gators enter a new era led by Coach Todd Golden, who comes from San Francisco after leading them to two 20+ win seasons in three seasons
• The Gators top player is forward Colin Castleton (#12), who leads the team averaging 18.1 PPG, 8 RPG, and 2.9 BPG
• The Gators other main scoring threats are Will Richards (#5, 13.6 PPG), Kyle Lofton (#11, 9.6 PPG), Trey Bonham (#2, 8.4 PPG), and Kowacie Reeves (#14, 7.2 PPG)
• The Gators defense makes it difficult around the basket blocking 6.4 shots per game, which is the 5th best in the nation
