Rattlers Sweep SWAC Cluster

BATON ROUGE, La. | Florida A&M volleyball (15-11, 12-0 SWAC) pretty much led from start to finish. It surrendered a few early set points and battled Alcorn State in the third, but the Rattlers sat ahead on the scoreboard for most of Monday's match (Oct. 31). The final result captured the team's 24th straight win over a Southwestern Athletic Conference competitor and its 10th sweep of the season.

In a well-balanced attack, Dominique Washington led the Rattlers with seven kills; however, four finished with six (Brooke Lynn Watts, Isis Williams, Emerald Jacobs, and Jasmine Robinson). Irem Ucar added 36 assists, while Brooke Hudson notched 24 digs. 
 
Alcorn's 19 kills were the fewest FAMU has allowed all year.
 
The third set was the most evenly played between the two - the score highlighted seven ties, the last at 13-13 - and things remained tight until a kill by Watts ignited a match-ending 5-1 run.
 
Florida A&M is back in Al Lawson Center Wednesday (Nov. 2), where it will take on North Florida. Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
