The Florida A&M women's basketball team will play host to Southern and Grambling State in back-to-back home contests at the Al Lawson Center.  
 
#Fight4Literacy | The Florida A&M women's basketball team has partnered with Coaching for Literacy (CFL) to raise awareness, volunteerism, and fundraising activities for a more literate America. 
 
As such, the Saturday doubleheader against Southern University will be a #Fight4Literacy. FAMU basketball coaches Shalon Pillow and Robert McCullum will wear green lapel pins and wristbands to raise awareness, and fans are encouraged to donate -- through the FAMU men's and women's teams – in support of local programs. One hundred percent of funds generated at the game will stay in the Panhandle through grant partnerships with the Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend and the Early Learning Coalition of Escambia County. Rattlers Strike | FAMU's journey through the Southwestern Athletic Conference began with a nail-biting 70-68 win over its in-state rival Bethune-Cookman. Maleaha Bell propelled her team to its first success of the season with .7 seconds on the clock.
 

• Bell finished the evening with a career-high 10 points.
• In conference-only statistics, Dylan Horton and Anisja Harris have recorded "Top 4" scoring performances in the SWAC, with 22 and 21 points, respectively. The numbers versus B-CU also cemented career highs. 
• The success captured Shalon Pillow's first career win as a head coach. 

Bell Garners Impact Honors | After banking the game-winning buzzer-beater at Bethune-Cookman, Maleaha Bell was also named the SWAC Women's Basketball Impact Player of the Week. It was her first career honor and the Rattlers' second weekly accolade of the year. 
 
Harris For Three | Anisja Harris is proving to be one of the best 3-pointer shooters in the SWAC this season. She averages a conference-best 2.0 treys per game and has hit at least two in 10 appearances on the year. The Columbus, Ohio, native notched a career-high four 3-pointers versus Texas A&M International (Dec. 11). 
 
Harris & Horton | Anisja Harris and Dylan Horton have recorded double-digit points in each of the Rattlers' last four games.

Horton has surpassed double figures in all but one game during the 2020-21 campaign.
 
A Rotating Lineup | Head coach Shalon Pillow has explored eight different starting lineups this season, and only one - Malerie Brooks - has been mainstay in each. Brooks is the only Rattler to start all 12 games this season. She averages 31.9 minutes per game, second to only Dylan Horton (32.8), while adding 8.1 PPG, 5.4 RPG, and only 21 total turnovers.  
 
Horton, the Rattlers' leading scorer, has also started in all but three contests.
