FAMU Athletics Mourns the Loss of Former Rattler Cheerleader

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | Florida A&M Athletics mourns the loss of FAMUly member and former cheerleading captain MaKayla Bryant.
 
"We would like to send our deepest condolences and prayers to the friends and family of MaKayla Bryant," said the vice president and director of athletics, Kortne Gosha.
 
Bryant of Chicago entered FAMU in 2017 and graduated magna cum laude in fall 2020 with a degree in criminal justice. She was enrolled in the Community Psychology graduate program. While at FAMU, Bryant was a member of the cheerleading team for four years and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She captained the cheerleading team during the 2019-2020 school year.
 
There will be a memorial on campus Saturday, January 29th at 5 p.m. Eastern in Charles Winter Wood Theatre.
