Women’s Hoops Hits the Road at UAPB, MVSU

The Last Outing | Florida A&M picked up its second win in Southwestern Athletic Conference play in an 84-78 decision over Grambling State (Jan. 10).
  • The Rattlers shot a season's best 54.5 percent from the floor, with four players scoring in double-digits. 
  • Maleaha Bell notched her first double-double of the season on a career-high 10 points and 10 rebounds. 
  • FAMU is 2-0 when outscoring its opponents in the paint; it held a 38-26 advantage against Grambling and recorded a 42-26 edge in the category versus Bethune-Cookman (Jan. 3). 
  • Dylan Horton left Al Lawson Center with a career-high 32 points; it is the second-best scoring performance in the SWAC this season. 
SWAC Recognition | Dylan Horton was the first Rattler to garner Southwestern Athletic Conference Player of the Week accolades this season, and she recently earned the recognition for the second time after posting career numbers against Southern and Grambling.
 
Horton recorded back-to-back career scoring nights with 25 and 32 points, respectively, while also averaging 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals. 
 
For those keeping count, Horton has two weekly awards under her belt and Maleaha Bell has also been named the SWAC Impact Player of the Week.
