Rattlers Force Extra Points, Unable to Grab SWAC-Opening Win

JACKSON, Miss. | The start of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play may not have gone as planned for the Florida A&M volleyball team, as it dropped a 3-0 decision at Jackson State Friday night (Sept. 24).
 
But the good news is there's always tomorrow.
 
The Rattlers forced extra points in each of the first two sets, 28-26 and 26-24, before falling 25-22 in the third. Dominique Washington and Emerald Jacobs continued to guide FAMU's scoring efforts with a team-high 16 and nine kills, respectively, while Jessa Long notched 21 digs and Irem Ucar 27 assists.
 
The team's SWAC-opening weekend continues Saturday (Sept. 25) at Mississippi Valley State. Match time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
