Rattlers Set to Wrap Non-Conference Calendar at Auburn

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | One final tournament separates the Florida A&M volleyball team from the start of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play. The non-conference calendar concludes at Auburn (Sept. 17-18), with competition against the host, Belmont, and Nicholls State.  
 
Match 1: Florida A&M at Auburn 
-Friday, September 17 - 1:30 p.m. ET / 12:30 p.m. CT
  
Match 2: Florida A&M vs. Belmont 
- Friday, September 17 - 6:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. CT  
 
Match 3: Florida A&M vs. Nichols State  
-Saturday, September 18 - 12:30 p.m. ET / 11:30 a.m. CT
 
About the Rattlers
 
- The Rattles hold the No. 1 spot in the SWAC in several statistical categories including hitting percentage (.214), match win-loss percentage (.556), service aces (46), assists (362), and digs (550). 
 
- The team has a record of 5-4; three of the victories were sweeps.   
 
- FAMU has one of the top offensive players in the nation in Dominique Washington. She currently ranks fourth in kills per set (5.09), eighth in points per set (5.58), and 10th in total kills (163). 
 
- Washington is the only athlete in the SWAC with at least 100 kills.  
 
- Jessa Long sits atop the SWAC with 5.16 digs per set, which also ranks 21st in the country. 
 
- Washington, Aybuke Kocabiyik, and Kaila Todd have been forces at the net, and enter tournament play with 16.0, 15.0, and 14.0 blocks, respectively. 
 
 
Scouting the Tigers
 
- Auburn possesses a perfect 6-0 record, with all six victories occurring on their home court.
 
- Bella Rosenthall was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 14) after totaling 20-plus digs in matches against North Alabama (25) and Santa Clara (20); she currently leads the SEC, while ranking 13th in the nation, with an average of 5.45 digs per set. 
 
- Rebekah Rath guides the team's attacking efforts with 92 kills and is trailed closely by Liz Reich (71). 
 
- Tatum Shipes and Elif Yavuz maintain 31 and 20 total blocks, respectively.  
 
Scouting the Bruins
 
- In search of its first road win, Belmont hits the road with an overall record of 2-5. 
 
- Taylor Floyd commands the offense with a team-high 75 kills, followed by Laura Shoopman's 64. 
 
- Kailee Bass (25) and Sydney Williams (22) are neck-and-neck in total blocks.
 
Scouting the Colonels
 
- The Colonels are 6-3 overall and are coming off a 1-2 performance at the Jax State Invitational. 
 
- Team leaders include Paige Guidry (76 kills), Kylie Lockhart (111 digs), and Aaliyah Burras (25 blocks).
