ORLANDO, Fla. - The Florida A&M cheer team left their hearts on the mat at the National Cheerleading Association (NCA) Collegiate Camp (August 9-11), and the passion didn't go unnoticed. The Orange and Green struck gold, earning the highest bid to Nationals, and garnered two additional first-place finishes for rally routine and gameday segment in the all-girl advanced division.
"I am super excited at how the cheerleaders represented FAMU at the NCA camp," said head coach Brandi Tatum. "The goal was a gold bid and they delivered. I am so proud and cannot wait for the world and our FAMU community to see the talent of this team."
The award-winning Rattlers also received all-superior ribbons and Spirit Stick acknowledgment for showcasing outstanding spirit.
With the collegiate gold bid, the team qualified for the NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship. The event is scheduled for April 6-10, 2022, in Daytona Beach, Fla.
