JACKSONVILLE, Fla. | The first round is in his rearview mirror. Florida A&M's Jaylyn Scott will continue his journey through the NCAA East Preliminary Track & Field Championships.
The junior made his postseason debut Wednesday (May 26), where he clocked the second-best time in his 400-meter hurdles heat in 51.20. The "Top 3" automatically qualified for quarterfinals, and his mark stood 13th overall in a 47-man field.
Scott's next race is Friday, May 28, at 7:55 p.m. The "Top 12" will punch a ticket to Eugene, Ore., for the NCAA Track & Field Championships.
