Rattlers Avenge Early Setback; Split 9-1 Decisions at Alabama State

The Rattlers were on the winning and losing sides of 9-1 scores Wednesday.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The day was filled with peaks and valleys for the Florida A&M softball team, as it split decisions on the road at Alabama State Wednesday (April 7). The Rattlers were on the winning and losing sides of 9-1 scores but left the Barbara Williams Softball Complex on a high note after claiming success in game two.

The doubleheader not only featured mirrored scores, each victor also outhit the losing team, 10-4.

Game two saw Melkayla Irvis and Seriah Brokenboroug charge the Rattlers' offense with 2-for-3 performances at the plate, while Gabriella Williams earned her fifth victory of the season. The senior pitcher went the distance for six innings pitched and didn't allow a run until the fourth. A bases-loaded walk quickly erased the score in the next frame, and Kyami Cruz plated the ninth and final run in the top of the sixth with a two-out, RBI-double to left field.

Sydnee Worthy singled to right field to bring in FAMU's lone run in the opener.
