Scott Achieves Solo and Relay Success at Hurricane Invitational

Jaylyn Scott had a hand in both of the Rattlers’ wins in Miami.

MIAMI | The Florida A&M track and field program took a trip south to the Hurricane Alumni Invitational held at the University of Miami (April 9-10) and left the meet with a pair of event wins and six total 'Top 3' finishes.

Jaylyn Scott had a hand in both victories, with individual success in the 400-meter hurdles as well as a relay triumph in the 4x400. The junior swept the nine-man field in his solo race with a time of 51.38 before running the second leg of the relay -- joining Jaylyn Scott, Yirmyah Yirmyah, and Brandon Love -- for a first-place time of 3:17.21.

In addition to the wins, the Rattlers also captured several personal records at the meet.

Pache' Caldwell doubled down for an outdoor best in the high jump (2.00 meters / 6-06.75) and a lifetime mark in the long jump (7.31 meters / 23-11.75). He placed second and third in the respective events, while Rachel Robertson held down the fort for the Rattler women with a new PR in the triple jump (12.33m / 40-05.50).

FAMU's top finishers in the 200-meter dash also notched collegiate bests, and Timothy Ashley clocked in at third place with his (21.39).

The Rattlers will make their way to Orlando, Fla., for the UCF Team Invite on Saturday (April 24).
