MJ Randolph Selected to Preseason All-SWAC Team, Rattlers Predicted to Finish 6th

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Rattlers are preparing for their first season in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), and the league office has released their preseason accolades and predicted order of finish.

Senior guard MJ Randolph was named to the Preseason All-SWAC Second Team after averaging 15.3 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, and 4.4 assists per game. Randolph was named to the All-MEAC First Team in the Rattlers' final season as a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Also, Randolph was named to BOXTOROW's All-American First Team.

The Rattlers were picked to finish sixth in the SWAC's Preseason Predicted Order of Finish.

Texas Southern, winners of the SWAC Basketball Tournament last season, garnered 11 first-place votes and 237 points to be chosen to repeat as conference champions.

Prairie View A&M tallied nine first-place votes, and 204 points were selected second, while Jackson State recorded 202 points and was chosen third.
