TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | Florida A&M University head men's basketball coach
Robert McCullum announced the signing of Jahvon Smith on Friday.
Smith, a 6-foot-4 guard from Norland Senior High School in Miami, Fla., led the Vikings to an 18-10 overall record and a 7-0 conference mark last season. While at Norland, Smith was coached by FAMU alum Lawton Williams III.
"We are thrilled to add another talented guard to our 2020 recruiting class in addition to landing another player from the talented South Florida area," McCullum said. "Jahvon's size, strength and versatility adds to our approach of recruiting players that are long athletes which aid in how we want to play on both ends of the floor."
Smith, who averaged 10.4 points, 7.2 assists and 6.3 rebounds last season, becomes the third player from the South Florida area, joining returning center
Evins Desir, along with fall signee Wylie Howard III.
