MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. | The Florida A&M University men's golf team finished 11th during the final round of the Bash of the Beach Tournament, hosted by Appalachian State, on Tuesday at the Surf Golf and Beach Club.
The Rattlers fired a final-round 293 and completed the three-round event with a 25-over-par 889 to claim 11th in the 15-team field.
Jacksonville State and UNC Wilmington finished tied at 22-under 842 as UNCW won the sudden-death playoff to win the event. Appalachian State placed third at 848, followed by UT Arlington (857), Tennessee Tech (858), Queens University of Charlotte (861), George Washington (862), Eastern Kentucky (867), Loyola-Chicago (868) and East Carolina (878). Long Island (911), Pennsylvania (914), Maryland Eastern Shore (933) and Pennsylvania A Team (936) rounded out the field.
Mulbe Dillard, who registered 13 birdies, finished tied for 24th at 216, followed by
Logan Bryant, tied for 66th, at 225.
Isaiah Shaw carded a 226 and placed tied for 69th, while
Mahindra Lutchman, who carded a team-high 36 pars, finished tied for 71st at 227.
Cameron Riley claimed the final spot with a 228, good enough for tied for 73rd.
A. Segundo Oliva Pinto, of UNC Wilmington, won the individual title with an 11-under-par 205.
Florida A&M returns to action Saturday through Sunday at the George Mason Invitational at the Mission Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills
