TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | Jean-Baptiste Mbong won his singles match in straight sets, but the Florida A&M University men's tennis team fell to the College of Charleston, 6-1, on Saturday at the FAMU Tennis Center.
In doubles play, the team of
Petr Cervinka and
Eliott Ekindi fell to Pociej Ksawery and Ben Cawston, 6-2, while Johnny Wang and Noah Borges defeated Mbong and Sturgis, 7-6, as the Cougars took a 1-0 lead into singles action.
Mbong claimed the singles win at No. 1, 6-3, 6-4, over Cawston, but the College of Charleston won the match with victories at No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6.
Florida A&M returns to action on Sunday with a noon match at the FAMU Tennis Center against Stetson.
