SAVANNAH, Ga. | The Florida A&M University men's golf team improved nine spots after the first round and finished the opening day fifth at the Invitation at Savannah Harbor, hosted by William & Mary.
Florida A&M, which was 14th, after the first 18 holes and shot a 305, will enter Sunday's final round in fifth place after firing a 287 during the second 18 holes and has a two-round score of 592.
Delaware and Valparaiso are tied for the top spot with an 8-over-par 584. Francis Marion, which held the lead after the first 18 holes, sits in third at 587 and Wright State is fourth with a 589.
Northern Kentucky (594), Columbia (594), IUPUI (595), Saint Joseph's – Pa. (596), William & Mary (596), Longwood (598), Fairleigh Dickinson (600), Western Carolina (600), Bethune-Cookman (604), Iona (608), Navy (610), Brown (611), Bradley (623) and Savannah State (628) rounded out the 19-team field.
Cameron Riley sits tied for 11th after firing a 147, while
Ethan Mangum is tied for 16th with a 148.
Mulbe Dillard, who shot an opening-round 79, is tied for 27th at 149.
Mahindra Lutchman and
Logan Bryant carded 150 and 153, respectively for the Rattlers.
Austin Schoonmaker, of Wright State, leads the field with a 5-under-par 139 and is one stroke ahead of Delaware's Hugo Kedzile (140).
