JACKSONVILLE, Fla. | The Florida A&M University women's tennis team began its season on Friday afternoon with a 7-0 loss to North Florida at the UNF Tennis Complex.

The Lady Rattlers (0-1) dropped the doubles point after losses at No. 1 and No. 3.

North Florida (1-0) won the match by claiming wins at all six positions.

At No. 2 singles,
Haleigh Porter dropped a hard-fought match to Valentina Mariotto, 6-3, 2-6, 0-1 (10-4), while
Rachel Harden fell to Summer Yardley, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3. At No. 4, Sean Lodzki defeated
Arielle Nealy, 7-5, 6-2.

Florida A&M returns to the courts on Saturday with a pair of matches, beginning at 10 a.m. against Georgia Southern, followed by a 2 p.m. match against Flagler.
