Game could be completed if necessary on a date to be determined later
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 23) – Heavy rain forced the suspension of Sunday's baseball series finale between Florida A&M University and North Carolina Central at Moore-Kittles Field, with the visiting Eagles leading 6-0 with two outs in top of second inning.
The game may be completed later in the season, especially if seeding for the May MEAC Baseball Tournament could be affected.
Zach Lee and Cory Williamson each had two hits to lead NCCU (9-13, 6-5 in MEAC), which had nine hits total in the first two innings.
Matthew Schaeffer started for FAMU (7-14, 4-4), working into the second before being lifted for reliever William Carrasco. Schaeffer was charged with all six NCCU runs on seven hits in one and one-third innings.
Blake Quillin had the Rattlers' lone hit in the bottom of the first inning.
WHAT'S NEXT: FAMU has a stretch of road games ahead beginning Tuesday with a makeup date at Jacksonville University, followed by a Wednesday night game at Stetson University, before a three-game series against MEAC Southern Division leader North Carolina A&T in Greensboro next Saturday and Sunday.
