Assistant Head Coach | Running Backs | High School Recruiting Coordinator
Toriano Morgan joined the Florida A&M University football staff in January 2026 as Assistant Head Coach, Running Backs Coach, and High School Recruiting Coordinator, bringing over 20 years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels.

A native of Fort Lauderdale, Morgan is widely regarded as one of the most innovative offensive minds in HBCU football. Throughout his career, he has coached 35 all-conference players and helped develop 13 players who went on to compete in the National Football League.

Morgan earned the nickname “Mr. 180” for his proven ability to transform programs. Most recently, he served as Head Coach at Edward Waters University, where he guided the Tigers to their first winning season in over two decades, posting a 6-4 record. Under his leadership, Edward Waters entered the HBCU national polls for the first time as a full SIAC member, ranking among the top 10 in the BoxToRow, HBCU Sports, and HBCU D2 polls in 2023.

Prior to Edward Waters, Morgan spent two seasons as Assistant Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Quarterbacks Coach at Virginia State University, where the Trojans went 8-2 and the offense ranked in the top 10 nationally in multiple statistical categories. He also served as Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Virginia Union University, directing an offense that set multiple program records over four seasons.

Morgan’s coaching career began in 2002 as a graduate assistant at Tennessee State University, his alma mater, where he was a standout player, back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference champion, two-time FCS playoff participant, and team captain in his final season.

In 2022, Morgan was selected to participate in the NFL Coaching Academy — a prestigious program recognizing coaches who have excelled in their profession — and was named to FootballScoop’s Rising Star Coaches Watch List. He also served as Head Coach of the nationally televised HBCU Pigskin All-Star Classic.

Morgan is married to Adeline Morgan and they have a son, Zaiden.
