Rochelle "Coach Nikki" Houston became the head of tennis at Florida A&M University in August 2017. Prior, Houston joined the FAMU staff as the head coach of the women's tennis program in August 2015.

Houston, a native of Nashville, Tennessee, comes to FAMU after serving as the tennis director for Hadley Park tennis club in Nashville and the head tennis pro for Hadley Park Junior Tennis Development.
Houston has led FAMU men's tennis program to one Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship (2017). Houston has lead the women's tennis program to three MEAC regular season southern division titles and was voted MEAC Coach of the Year and Outstanding Coach.
Academically, the 2018 men’s and women’s tennis programs earned All-Academic Team Honors by earning a team GPA of over a 3.2. The men’s tennis team received the highest GPA award for the athletic department in 2018 and women’s tennis team received the highest GPA award for the athletic department in 2017.
Houston is a two-time alum of FAMU, earning a bachelor's degree in computer information systems in 2002 and master’s degree in sports management in 2006. Houston was a four-year letter winner for the women's tennis program and played in the No. 1 singles and doubles position. Houston was named to the MEAC All-Conference in 2002.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Houston played professionally for the next three years. Houston is also a member of the Professional Tennis Registry, United States Tennis Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Houston is married to her husband, Bryan.
