Orlando McKinley Jr. brings six years of coaching experience to the defensive staff, having been retained by Head Coach Quinn Fordham Gray Sr. as Defensive Analyst and Assistant Special Teams Coach. A Florida A&M University alumnus, McKinley starred as a four-year starter at cornerback and three-year starter at nickel for the Rattlers from 2015–2018, also earning two years of playing time as both a punt and kick returner.

He holds the FAMU and MEAC record for the longest interception returned for a touchdown at 100 yards, and earned HBCU All-American honors along with three All-Conference selections during his playing career.

McKinley launched his coaching career at Banneker High School before returning to his alma mater as a Defensive Graduate Assistant from 2021–2023, contributing to the Rattlers’ 2021 HBCU National Championship. He then served as Defensive Backs/Returners Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Albany State University from 2023–2025, where he helped the program reach the 2023 SIAC Championship game. His expertise in player development is reflected in producing a 2024 Top-25 Kickoff Returner and Top-5 Punt Returner nationally.

McKinley earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from FAMU in 2019 and is completing his Master of Business Administration from Strayer University in June 2026. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
