Marquel Broussard

  • Title
    Associate Athletics Director for Operations
Marquel Broussard joined Florida A&M Athletics on January 4, 2023, as the executive assistant to the vice president.

Before joining FAMU, Broussard joined the Prairie View A&M Athletics Compliance Department in January 2020. She assisted in compliance oversight of all PVAMU athletics programs. She was primarily responsible for ensuring compliance within the softball, men’s and women’s track and field, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s tennis, and bowling programs.

She arrived at Prairie View A&M from Grambling State University, where she spent nearly eight years serving in various positions within the athletics department. Most recently, she was the assistant director of compliance. In addition to serving as a member of the eligibility certification team, she coordinated Grambling’s National Letter of Intent program and prepared waivers and potential rules violations investigations when needed.

Before that role, Broussard worked as one of Grambling’s academic/compliance coordinators, where she supervised the athletic department’s study hall and designed each sports study session. She also monitored Progress Toward Degree and Continuing Eligibility standards.

After some time away from athletics, Broussard began her compliance career as an administrative assistant at Grambling. In that capacity, she monitored student-athletes during study hall and assisted the academic enhancement coordinator in the daily tasks and functions of the department.

Broussard’s first professional foray into intercollegiate athletics was as assistant secretary and recruiting coordinator for the Grambling State football program, a role she held from 2009-2013. In this role, she handled all correspondence, recruiting visits, meetings, and events on campus.

Broussard graduated from Grambling State University with a degree in Biology while minoring in Business Management. She holds professional memberships in the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC), the Minorities Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA), the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A), and the National Association of College Directors of Athletics (NACDA).

She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, where she served as president of the Alpha Theta Chapter during her undergrad years.
