Julian Fernandez-Hodge joined the FAMU Sports Medicine team in January 2023 as an assistant athletic trainer. Fernandez-Hodge works primarily with the volleyball, indoor track & field, and softball programs. 

Prior to FAMU, he spent two summers employed with the St. Louis Cardinals at their Rookie level and Low-A affiliates and the Williamsport Crosscutters of the MLB Draft League. Fernandez-Hodge started his career as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for Wayne State College. There, he served his athletic training duties for their volleyball and track and field programs. 

A native of Wesley Chapel, Florida, he earned his bachelor of science in athletic training from the University of Central Florida in May of 2020. He then completed his master of science in Human Performance and Wellness Management from Wayne State College in August of 2022.  
Fernandez-Hodge is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida. He possesses athletic training licenses in Florida and Pennsylvania.
