Biography

Ariel Allen has had a successful two season thus far in her FAMU career.  Immediately upon joining the team, the Lady Rattlers became a threat to win several events, including the 800m run, her specialty.  She has held her own as a distance and mid-distance runner for FAMU.  The highlight of her FAMU career came with their winning of the 2012-2013 MEAC Women's Cross Country Championship.

High School: Allen lettered in cheerleading, basketball and track at Nathan B. Forrest High School in Jacksonville, Fla. In 2009, Allen served as class parliamentarian. She was named All Conference Athlete and Girl's Basketball MVP in the same year. In 2010, she was a Time Union Scholar Athlete as well as class president. She was the 800 meter district champ and she was the runner up at the regional and state meet.

Personal: Ariel Rene'a Allen was born February 18, 1992 to Phoebe and Troy Allen in Jacksonville, Fla. She has two brothers, Byran Jones and Christopher Gregory. Her oldest brother Byran Jones plays football at the University of Florida. Allen is a member of Potter's House Christian Fellowship and she participates in the Youth Ministry, she is also a member of the Young Life Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Ariel is pursuing a degree in criminal justice and in her free time she enjoys playing basketball, writing and dancing.
