Shontielle Johnson is entering her second season as the throws coach for men and women. Coach Johnson is a native of Tallahassee, graduating from Lawton Chiles High School. After high school, Coach Johnson went off to Coffeyville Community College located in Kansas, where she competed in track and field, also reviving her AA Degree. Later, receiving her bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Pre-Physical in 2018, and master’s degree in Sports Management in 2019.Â
During her years of competing, Coach Johnson was a part of the Women’s Track and Field program (FAMU) who claimed the MEAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship Title in 2018. Although that’s one of her accomplishments, she is one of few to graduate with high honors while being a mother-student-athlete.Â
While coaching at FAMU, Coach Johnson has coached over two champions. She coached the throws group, but during her internship with the track and field program, she handled the social media pages, assisting with photography and graphics.Â
