FAMU Athletics introduced the Gaither Society to provide an elite group of donors dedicated to giving at the highest level the opportunity to support the Athletic Department's primary mission of providing scholarships for student-athletes. As a Gaither Society member, each year your donation will help cover the costs of a full scholarship for a Florida A&M student-athlete including tuition, fees, housing, and other expenses, such as academic services and medical training. As a result, the benefits associated with your Gaither Society membership are carefully designed to connect you with the scholarship you provide.
All Athletic Department staff and FAMU student-athletes understand the impact of the Gaither Society on the success of our athletic programs. As a result, Gaither Society members enjoy more intimate relationships with our staff, coaches, student-athletes, and Athletic Director. The commitment of Gaither Society members makes the group a deeply integrated fixture within the Athletic Department.
PROVIDING FINANCIAL STABILITY TO THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT
The current state of the economy presents a number of budgeting challenges for the Athletic Department and the commitment of each Gaither Society member plays a larger role than ever before in impacting the financial stability and success of the Athletic Department. Recruiting the right student-athletes- those interested in challenging themselves in order to excel in athletics and academics- will always be a high priority for FAMU. Any vision for the future of FAMU Athletics must include a commitment to creating opportunity for deserving students to achieve their dream of becoming a Rattler, regardless of their financial resources. With scholarship costs continuously on the rise the support of our Gaither Society members is more important than ever. By helping cover scholarship costs each year, these members have a significant impact on the lives of our many talented student-athletes.
