BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Florida A&M has garnered Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) recognition in back-to-back weeks with another trio of Rattlers named Track & Field Performers of the Week. 

On the women's side, Arayana Ladson received twice the accolades as the Field Performer and Newcomer of the Week, while Alesia Douglas was named the Co-Track Performer of the Week. Kirk Dawkins highlighted the men's list as the Co-Track Performer of the Week. 

All three were honored for their successes at the RADD Sports College Invitational (Jan. 23-24). 

Arayana Ladson, Field Performer of the Week & Newcomer of the Week
Claimed first place in the long jump with a mark of 5.71 meters (18' 9") … set a new personal record in the 60-meter hurdles with a third-place finish of 8.66 … the LJ performance ranks second on the SWAC's 2024 Performance List

Alesia Douglas, Co-Track Performer of the Week
Competed in three races, winning the 1,000 in 3:02.79 … was the fastest collegiate athlete in the women's 400, racing in at 55.85 for second place … placed fourth in the 800 (2:14.41) … the 400 and 800 performances sit atop the SWAC's 2024 Performance List

Kirk Dawkins, Co-Track Performer of the Week
Recorded two medalist performances … finished second in the 1,000 with a new personal record of 2:28.38 … finished third in the 800 with the fastest time (1:52.41) recorded in the SWAC this season … also came in at fourth in the 400 (49.63)
