JACKSONVILLE, Fla. | In a highly competitive field of 125 runners, the Florida A&M women's cross-country team delivered solid performances at the UNF 5K XC Challenge on Friday (Sept. 13). Newcomer
Tara Bert led the way in the Rattlers' season opener, placing 39th overall with a time of 20:51.9, and
Serenity Williams followed closely behind, crossing the line in 21:09.7 for 43rd.
Alesia Douglas (22:15.0) also finished in the top half of the field before
Jillian Salmon (23:17.8),
Lacie Deboskie (23:19.7),
Madison Gordon (23:40.2) and
Kristian Prather (23:46.2).
As a team, the Rattlers finished sixth out of 13 teams. They'll remain in state for their next meet -- the Embry-Riddle Classic on Saturday (Sept. 21).
