BATON ROUGE, La. | Florida A&M's remarkable journey through the three-day Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships resulted in 14 total medals – four gold, five silver, and five bronze. Kennedy Hill, Katelynn Smith, and the women's 4x400 relay, comprised of Rori Lowe, Lacie Deboskie, Smith, and Tatianna Martinez, stamped the third and final day of competition (May 4) with first-place performances.  

Florida A&M also set 21 personal records and achieved seven season bests at the meet. 

Taking a look at the final team standings, the Rattler women finished second overall with 129 points, trailing Alabama State's 139.33. FAMU's men finished in eighth place with 39.5 points. 

Joseph DeRosier, Breanna Brown-Marshall, and Katelynn Smith currently rank "Top 50" nationally in the 110-meter hurdles (24th), high jump (25th), and 400-meter hurdles (32nd), respectively. The Rattlers may receive an invite to the NCAA East Preliminaries in Lexington, Ky., later this month (May 22-25). To qualify, an athlete must finish "Top 48" in their respective event(s).
