TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | The Florida A&M women's cross-country team stayed close to home for its Friday (Oct. 11) meet, competing on familiar ground at Apalachee Regional Park for the Florida State XC Invitational. Leading the way for the Rattlers was
Tara Bert, who shaved nearly two minutes off her previous collegiate best to finish in 18:54.0.
Alesia Douglas (19:23.4),
Madison Gordon (21:37.1), and
Kristian Prather (22:24.0) also recorded personal bests in the 5K, further contributing to the team's overall success. The Rattlers finished eighth out of 15 teams, placing ahead of West Georgia, Auburn Montgomery, and Tuskegee.
FAMU, the reigning conference champions, will return to Apalachee Regional Park on Monday (Oct. 21) for the 2024 Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship.
