Rattlers finish second at HBCU National Tennis Championship

ATLANTA, Ga. –– Florida A&M tennis competed in their first event of the new season, and the 2022 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Champions were impressive in Atlanta, finishing second in the 2023 HBCU National Tennis Championship.
 
The Rattlers showed to have some of the best doubles teams in HBCU tennis with having a team in the championship match in both A and B draws. The doubles team of Rebekkah Gaines and Sara Rakim won the doubles B draw 6-1, as Veronica Rodriguez and Sierra Sandy lost the A draw 6-4.
 
The tournament was cut short due to weather, but Sara Rakim, Rebekkah Gaines, Veronica Rodriguez, Genesis Whitelock, and Susan Salinas were set to play in the quarterfinals of singles play.
