Florida A&M Athletics welcomes Kenneth Lassiter as the new Head Athletic Trainer

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –– Florida A&M Athletics announces Kenneth Lassiter as the new Head Athletic Trainer joining the Rattlers from Fayetteville State University.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to join the Florida A&M Athletics Department as the head athletic trainer," said Lassiter. "I want to thank VP Sykes for believing in me and bringing me down to the Highest of Seven Hills, and I can't wait to work with the talented student-athletes at FAMU."

Lassiter earned his Master of Science in Health and Kinesiology from Northeastern State University and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

As the Head Athletic Trainer and Director of Sports Medicine at Fayetteville State University, Lassiter demonstrated exceptional leadership, providing coverage for 11 NCAA Division II sports. He served as the primary ATC for football, men's basketball, and softball and supervised a team of volunteers. Lassiter was pivotal in maintaining student-athlete treatments, collaborating with medical professionals, and ensuring proper administration of athletic insurance claims. He also excelled in implementing Rehabilitation Programs and Concussion RTP protocols.

Before his tenure at Fayetteville State University, Lassiter was an outreach athletic trainer at VCU Health System, providing exceptional care and coverage for Virginia State University's 17 Division II sports. His experience includes designing and implementing rehabilitation programs for musculoskeletal injuries, such as Achilles tendon rupture, SLAP, and ACL tear.

Lassiter holds several certifications, including American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Instructor, BOC Certified Athletic Trainer, Graston Technique M1 Certified, and Certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner.
