Caldwell Gives All, Nearly Qualifies for NCAA Outdoor Championship

Pache’ Caldwell narrowly missed a spot in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. | Pache' Caldwell gave it his all but fell just short of qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The jumper qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary in two events – the long and high jump – and tied for 13th in the latter event Friday (May 26) with a 2.09-meter clearance (6' 10.25") on his second attempt.

The "Top 12" advanced to Austin, Texas. Caldwell placed 30th in the long jump with a 7.25-meter effort (23' 9.5").

The Florida A&M track and field program concludes its 2023 outdoor season with two invites to the NCAA East Preliminaries (Caldwell and Teleda Williams) and six "Top 3" performances at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championships, including one champion (Williams / 400 meters).
